It would be great for Group Fitness classes to be offered at Bennett: Zumba, Cardio Hip Hop, Body Toning, Kickboxing, etc. I'm biased because my current occupation is coordinating Group Fitness at a University. Lol. It might be unrealistic to expect students to be responsible for coordinating a program like this when they're already dealing with full academic course loads and extracurriculars (unless compensation was involved. It's a time consuming job).

I'm sure interest in classes like this would be HIGH. Plus it would help the young ladies stay fit, avoiding the Freshman 15 and the plethora of issues that accompany being overweight. However, I understand that something of this nature would take resources which may not be readily available. Nevertheless, we all need to make holistic wellness a priority.

Good work, Genevieve

I, too, am saddened to learn that the gym is not being used. Physical fitness is such an important part of the development of the whole person, and Bennett needs a fully operating gym with adequate staff to make sure it remains competitive.

What are the plans for getting the gym back to an appropriately functioning part of the College? Have members of the administration and staff reviewed the problems and made an assessment? What are the cost projections?

Are there any capital improvement funds available, which we might build on, to get the gym back to its reputable state? In addition to making our contributions, how else can we help?

Thank you,
Class of '69
